Study trip
Students taking part in MSc Program in Rural Development and Agribusiness in Szent István University participated in a study trip in Galgahévíz and Hévízgyörk on 15th May 2015. The aim of this trip was that our students got acquainted with the implementation of LEADER rural development program of the European Union in practice.
In the morning Krisztina Fáncsik, the tender desk officer of Galga-mente és Térsége LEADER Association gave a presentation about the locally completed developments between 2007 and 2013, the process of application and its difficulties and the changes which are expected in the future. After that András Vanó, the major of Galgahévíz showed the students the most important sights of the village. Then the following projects implemented with the help of LEADER subsidies were visited: the Kis-Csuki Restaurant (where not only a restaurant, but a conference room was also built), the re-roofed Szent Miklós Church, the renovated marketplace and the newly built playground, where a group of students of the local primary school song folk songs.
Finally, an ago-tourism project was shown by Anikó Hartmann Fröhlich in Hévizgyörk. She talked about the recovery process and future plans of Strawberry Rural Gastro House.
