Call for auxiliary application in the extended application period for BA, MA and MSc courses in English

According to the 3.§ (9) of the Dean’s precept No. 1/2014 about the application procedure for the courses taught in English, the deadline for auxiliary applications is extended to 15 August 2014 for the courses below:

  • Management and Business Administration BA,
  • Management and Leadership MA,
  • Rural Development and Agribusiness MSc.

Graduation of international students at our Faculty

The Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the Szent István University held its graduation ceremony on 14 June 2014 in Gödöllő, on the central campus. Nearly 500 students (50% BSc, 50% MSc) received their diplomas at the ceremony which was welcomed by the deputy speaker of the House of Hungarian Parliament, Mr. István Jakab. Almost 30% of the students had outstanding or excellent results which reflects the high quality teaching as well as the great abilities of students.

Strengthening of the education cooperation of our Faculty with China

On 7 February 2014, a letter of intent for educational cooperation was signed by the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the Szent István University and the Chinese-European Society for a Sustainable Economy and Cultural Cooperation under the decision of the Senate made in October 2013. The letter of intent says that the Faculty intends to offer its BSc and MSc courses to Chinese citizens recruited by the Society. The Chairman of the Society has just travelled to China to start the distribution of the information about the courses as soon as possible.

International Education and Career Exhibition in Baku

The Szent Istvan University participated at the 7th Azerbaijan International Education and Career Exhibition in Baku between 4th and 5th Ocotber with the financial assistance of Campus Hungary Program. In addition to the SZIU, other seven Hungarian higher education institutions were represented. The Szent István University was represented by Dr. Csaba Gyuricza from the Faculty of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences and by Dr. Pál Goda from the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences.

Over 100 participants from 20 countries at the VUA symposium

Between 3 and 5 October 2013 Szent István University hosted the First Visegrad Doctoral Symposium organized jointly with the Slovak University of Agriculture under the auspices of the Visegrad University Association. The aim of the event was to provide a forum for PhD and master students of the member universities for exchanging their research results and ideas. Prof. h.c. Dr. József Káposzta, the dean of the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences of the Szent István University and Qu Lei, the chairman of the Chinese-European Society for a Sustainable Economy and Cultural Cooperation signed a general agreement on 1st October 2013 in Gödöllő to initiate mutually beneficial cooperation in student exchange and research projects in the field of sustainable development and environment protection.

The delegation of the SZIU FESS in Ekaterinburg

The new Faculty management, entering into office on 1st July 2013, had its first official visit to Russia, Ekaterinburg between 9 and 13 July 2013. The aim of the visit was to expand the former, well-established Russian relations of the Faculty with additional higher educational institutions in Russia. The delegation, which was headed by Prof. h.c. Dr. József Káposzta, the Dean of the Faculty, met 3 higher educational institutions and discovered several cooperation possibilities.
